Oh, oh ... Kitchen Chemistry 101 question?

I just created a project in chemistry in the kitchen ..... the creation of a sweet treat that is calling for melted chocolate. So I took a small pot to the lower half is covered (note, not solid as can be seen from the inside the pot) of copper. The large water boiler put in is made of some iron, heavy pot that I received in a long time after Smart'n'Final melted chocolate that I'm looking at the bigger pot and see dark discoloring Nice ...... some chemical reaction going on I guess the question ..... however, I have to be worried and now perhaps evacuate the apartment with toxic fumes in the air (do not smell anything) and also the hope of my chocolate is not made for that? It is an iron pot, the burner is not hot enough to melt iron. More likely is that any food residue in the burner or oil coating on the iron foundry burned and caused the pot to change color. I did the other night. Do not worry about it.
