When I think Spanish, I think of passion. I imagine the dizzying smell of black chocolate or the sweet aroma of almond floating in the summer breeze. I think the bright red track of a flamenco dancer's dress as she turns and stamps on the heels of strong strumming a classical guitar.
If you're a romantic like I, the benefits of teaching himself Spanish should be obvious to you. French may be the language of love, but Spanish, Spanish oh ... only sound of it, every consonant and vowel spoken so clearly. You can be like a sleep-inducing as a whisper, or as fascinating as a passionate cry.
Romance aside, however, the single precision inthe Spanish language spoken is what makes it so beautiful. I guess the beauty of Spanish is based on the simplicity of its pronunciation. This apparent simplicity and precision some can be misleading. Below the surface is beautiful and music is intricate Spanish grammar that follows a host standards, followed by a number of dubious exceptions to these rules. That said, I think it is like Spanish music.
I can be romantic in Spanish, but I am painfully serious about finding a way to learn Spanish. You can of course start with memorizing the alphabet and phonetics. You can also start teaching yourself Spanish words to increase vocabulary. This is the part where you begin to feel that everything is a chore, but if you like Spanish, you must also take seriously Learn to speak Spanish correctly.
