Meat, fish, poultry and meat alternatives:

(2 to 3 servings daily of a maximum of 6 oz per serving)

Beef - sirloin, loin, Chuck

Eggs - organic or free, cholesterol-free substitute

Fish and seafood - white, pink, red, gray (fresh or packaged)

Lamb - leg, rib, loin, arm

Legumes - peas, beans, lentils, etc.

Meat Pork - leg, shoulder, tenderloin

Poultry meat - chicken, turkey and game birds (white or light only, and no skin)

Beef - all types, fat cut

Dairy products:

(2-3 servings per day - 6 oz of milk or yogurt, or 1 matchbox size of cheese)

Milk - low fat, 1%, 2%, nonfat, skim, low fat evaporated milk whey powder low fat or low

Yogurt - low fat

Cheese (soft) - low-fat cottage or farmer, part-skim ricotta cheese, mozzarella

Cream cheese - light or low-fat

Cream - light or low fat

Ice cream - low fat

Breads, cereals, rice, pasta:

(6-11 servings daily of whole wheat, vegetable, Omega 3, fiber2c, or varieties low in Cholestrol)

Bread - Pita bread, pumpernickel, rye, wheat

Rice cakes

English muffins - whole wheat

Cookies - under matzah fat, crisp rye crackers, zwieback

Cereals - low fat, Cholestrol low, low sugar, low sodium

Pasta - any type

Rice - Basmati, Thai long grain, wild

Fruits and vegetables:

(3 to 10 daily servings of green, orange, yellow, red and dark green vegetables and various fruits and juices)

Any vegetables - low-sodium canned fresh, frozen, dried

Any fruit - low sodium, canned, fresh, frozen, dried

Other foods:

Oil - (6-8 ounces maximum daily) unsaturated corn, extra virgin olive oil, peanut oil, canola, safflower, sesame, soybean

The following foods should be avoided or minimized, as they contain a large amount of saturated fat and too high a concentration of LDL Cholestrol:

All candies, cakes, soft drinks and sweets

Animal fats - all types, lard

beef - canned, chopped common, ribs, chest

caviar - all types

cereals - high sugar, high saturated fat, granola

Cheese - Neufchatel, Swiss, Brie, mozzarella, cheddar, American, Feta, processed, full chocolate

cream, full cream cheese, Muenster

cream - more regular and non-dairy

duck

ice cream - full cream

goose

luncheon meats - regular

more crackers snack - cheese, butter

organ meats - Liver, sweetbreads, kidneys, brain

pasta dinners - cheese sauces, cream sauces, butter, egg noodles

popcorn corn - with butter

pork - leaf roll, pork chops, bacon

potato chips

rice dinners - cheese sauces, cream, butter sauces

sausages - most varieties, including hot dogs and sausages

sour cream - Full Fat

dishes vegetables - with butter, cream, gravy, or with fatty sauces

yogurt - Full Fat
