Quaker Breakfast Cookies Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, 6-Count Boxes (Pack of 6)

I was shocked to read the nutritional facts on this product. Each 1.69oz cookie has 180 calories, 50 of them from fat! 6 grams total fat and 2 of those are saturated fat. Add to that 5 mg of cholesterol AND the 190 mg of sodium. Whatever benefit one might get from the whole grain oats seems diminished by the rest of the ingredients.

Yes, the price was good and they taste OK but certainly not what I was hoping for when I saw “baked, made with whole grain oats, good source of fiber, and 0g transfat”. These are not for the health conscious.

I’ll be honest. Unless I have the day off or someone makes it for me, I usually don’t stop for breakfast. I just don’t have the time, more often than not. Since I’ll get draggy before lunchtime if I don’t eat, I’ve been trying various pre-packaged ready to eat breakfast items such as this one.

    Here’s my conclusion on these:

Taste: For something that you get in a box, it isn’t bad. It won’t ever replace home baked cookies, but it is yummy enough that I’ve bought a few boxes of this. They can be a teensy bit bland on occasion, though.

Texture: Reasonably soft. It isn’t soft-bake Tollhouse cookies, but again… for something that comes out of a box it’s pretty soft- softer than many regular cookies out there. (Minus the ones made to be more chewy/soft.)

Hunger satisfaction: I was a little leery that this wouldn’t satisfy my hunger & that I’d be snacking afterwards, but surprisingly, one cookie goes a long way to filling you up.

My conclusion is that while you may not want to make this a regular breakfast item, if you don’t have a lot of time to get something more substantial, this is one of the better options out there. It’s more healthy than eating a Pop-Tart, anyway.

Had kind of a stale taste to them, a bit like Grandma’s Cookies, but even more so (makes sense, it’s a packaged cookie). I prefer Fiber One Bars as a breakfast item that has an authentic oatmeal taste and texture, though they sometimes suffer from the same staleness problems.

Buy this here at amazon.com if you buy this at the grocery store!! Best deal you will find ever!

This product, one package of six cookies, is $3 to $4 in the local stores. Order it here at amazon and you will get a case of cookies, 36 cookies, 6 boxes of cookies for $11!! Do the subscription deal and you will get a case of cookies for $10!!!

This is one incredible price and my son loves me everyday because of these cookies!! And I love to eat these cookies myself, as long as he doesn’t see me….haha.

Yeah, great for a quick breakfast, on the road or wherever, but also very good as a filling snack, between meals or whatever.

They have a decent amount of fiber, so there’s your excuse to eat one, well, anytime you feel like a good snack. I bought lots.

Great to take on an airline trip, eat one with your complimentary beverage, will get you through the flight easily. Works for me.
